Murphey Agave, Hohokam Agave
This plant is native to southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. This variegated form is said to be of nursery origin. Agave murpheyi is said to be a hybrid itself (A. palmeri × A. agustifolia) Beautiful yellow variegated leaves usually grow in a single rosette, very rarely will it offset, its main form of propagation is via bulbils after it blooms, which is what we are offering here. The plant grows best in full sun to light shade. This plant is a rather quick grower that reaches a diameter of about 3’ at maturity. Water the plant lightly in the summer but let it dry out during the winter. The flower color is a greenish/purple.
