Obrea variegata

This plants habitat is in the Eastern Cape Prov., South Africa. This is a thin stemmed species, stems can grow quite long and trail down the edges of the pot or crawl along the ground, it spreads to create a mat-like cluster, some stems upright, some procumbent. Purple color tones are highlighted when grown in strong sunlight. The plant grows best in filtered sun to full sun. Water the plant lightly in the summer but let it dry out during the winter. The plant spreads as it grows. The flower color is a spotted and patterned yellow/tan and dark red/maroon, and is star shaped.
