Ālula, ‘Ōlulu – Hawaiian Palm
This plant is endemic to the Hawaiian island of Kauai. It is a member of the Campanulaceae family. This plant is extremely rare in habitat and collections. It is listed as critically endangered. According to the US Botanical Gardens, the only pollinator in the wild was a moth that is now extinct. This plant is best grown similar to a tropical. We water it every few days providing is has dried out significantly and keep it in shade to part shade with only morning/evening sun. The flowers are pale yellow and in groups of three. They are very fragrant!
