Copiapoa rupestris ssp. desertorum
This plant is native to Prov. Antofagasta, Dept. Taltal, near Cifuncho, Chile. This is a coastal species. Dark green stem with stout and dense dark brown spines (bright red when juvenile) that fade to a white/grey. Will slowly offset to form a cluster. It grows best in part shade with moderate water during the summer and little to no water during winter. The flower is a yellow bloom.
