This plant is native to Ayacucho, Peru. There are some that consider this a form of C. sphaerica, however, it has quite a few differences and its unique characteristics warrant it as a distinct species. Round to elongated oval shaped segments to about 2” with twisty/curved spines and white tufts on the areoles. The segment color is a muted olive green. The segments are fragile and can detach easily, we do our best to pack them as safely as possible. The plant grows best in full to part sun. Water the plant in the summer but let it dry out during the winter. The flower is a golden yellow color.
