This plant is a nursery created hybrid. The plant grows best in full to part shade. Stems can be from dark green to brown, some stay single stemmed or with few offsets, others can freely offset. The leaves are wide lanceolate shaped with ruffled edges. Water this plant heavier in the summer and less during the winter. This plant should stay above 40 degrees at all times. It does best in 80 degree temps year round if possible. Dorstenia are very temperamental. It will rot if cold and wet but will lose its roots if left bone dry over the winter. If this happens, then you have to be very careful during the springtime with watering until the roots grow back. Growing these plants like this can be a very slow process if you are spending so much of the growing season growing back roots every year. That is why it is best to keep it warm enough so you can lightly water it throughout the winter. This plant is flowering size.
