This plant is native to Totoral Bajo to Carrizallilo, Huasco, Coquimbo and Atacama regions, Chile. This cactus grows best in full sun to light shade. This plant is rot prone, so water sparingly. This plant is usually a solitary, globose to short cylindrical cactus but can sometimes offset. This plant has variable black/brown/tan spines that will fade to a grey/white that are a nice contrast with the dark green/brown/purple body color. The flowers are bright pink!
