This plant is native to tropical areas in Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, México, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla, Aguascalientes Querétaro and Sinoaloa, Mexico. This plant has long green stems with short grey/black/red spines that branch to form an open sprawling shrub. At first this plant grows erect, then leans over to snake down, suitable for a hanging basket. Grow in full sun to partial shade. The large flowers are white. This is a night blooming species.
