This plants habitat is widespread in Brazil, occurring in the states of Piaui, Ceara, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe and Bahia. This plant grows best in full to partial sun. This species stem has a beautiful blue/silver glaucous waxy coating with golden yellow spines. It is one of the most blue columnar cacti there is. This is a columnar species growing to about 20ft tall at full maturity. It will branch to form a candelabra tree form. This plant needs regular water during the summer and to be kept dry in the winter. Avoid frost in winter, keep above 45-50F. The flower color is a pale rosey pink/creamy white. This is a nocturnal blooming species.
