Candle Stick, Inch Worm
This plants habitat is Mpumalanga, South Africa. The name has a few different spellings, stapeliaeformis, stapeliformis and stapeliiformis, all of which seem acceptable. Meaning Stapelia-like in appearance and form. This plant has stems about as thick as a sharpie marker with lovely mottled patterns in various shades of green with some purple tones. Offsets by underground runners to form a cluster. Grow this plant in full sun to part shade. Water regularly during the summer, keep drier during the winter. New stems emerge from underground and can grow out of the drain holes in the pot, layering the bottom of the pot with window screen will stop them from escaping. The flowers are an orange/red color.
