This plant is native to the states of Chihuahua and Durango, Mexico. This plant has a prolonged juvenile period in which it will not display any long central spines, these spines are a sign of maturity, although the length can vary as with the time to maturity. This plant grows best in full sun. This plant needs light water when growing and very little to none during the dormant time. This plant is rot prone if overwatered. The flower color is pink with a darker pink mid stripe.
